Join us for the Triad LUNGe Forward 5K Run, Walk & Celebration! From the 5K race to the celebration rally, to the kid’s dash, this year’s event will include a variety of activities for the entire family. The Triad LUNGe Forward 5K Run, Walk, & Celebration will be a day remembrance, as well as a day to take action and provide hope to those impacted by lung cancer. However you choose to participate, your support will make an impact in the fight against lung cancer

 


Registration Pricing & Details

ADULT

Adult - EARLY BIRD (Age 21 years old+) - Special Pricing ENDS JULY 31 $25.00

Adult - (Age 21 years old+) August 1 – September 17 - $30.00

Adult - (Age 21 years old+) - Event day, September 18 - $35.00

All 5K participants will be timed. 1 Mile participants will not be timed. 


YOUTH/STUDENT

Youth/Student - EARLY BIRD (Age 20 years old or younger) Special Pricing ENDS JULY 31 - $15.00

Youth/Student - (Age 20 years old or younger)  August 1 – September 17 - $20.00

Youth/Student - (Age 20 years old or younger) Event day, September 18 - $25.00

All 5K participants will be timed. 1 Mile participants will not be timed.


CELEBRATED ATTENDEES

Lung Cancer Survivor - FREE

Veteran - (Thank you for your service!) - $20.00

Health Care Worker or First Responder - (Thank you for your service!) - $20.00

Lounge for Lung Cancer - (Unable to attend on event day but want to support from afar? These registrants can fundraise and will be mailed a navy t-shirt within two weeks of the event.) - $25.00

All 5K participants will be timed. 1 Mile participants will not be timed. 

 

Registration Deadlines - Mail-in Registration Deadline is Monday, September 13 and Online Registration closes Wednesday, September 15 at midnight. Registration will be available at our Advanced Packet Pickup and on Race Day.

Race Awards - There will be awards given for the following categories in both male and female as well as men’s and women’s best overall competitive timed participants: 9 & younger, 10-11, 12-14, 15-18, 19-20, 21-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

 


Event Day Schedule 

8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. - Entertainment, exhibits, music, food and runners’ warmup.

8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. - Survivors' Breakfast served

8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. - On-stage recognition of veterans, lung cancer survivors and top fundraisers

9:00 a.m. - 1K - Hope Walk begins led by survivors 

9:30 a.m. - 5K Run / Walk Begins

9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Post-race celebration, including food, beer, music and more

10:30 a.m. - Kids' Dash

10:40 a.m. - Race Awards


Advanced Packet Pick-Up

For your convenience, there will be advanced packet pick-up scheduled.

o Thursday, September 16 in Transplace at 4-7pm
o Friday, September 17 in Omega on Battleground at 3-7pm

Pick up your race packet early and save time on race day! You CAN pick up for your entire team. We will prepare your team bags in advance if you contact us by Thursday, September 16 at 5:00 p.m. Email: SOehler@LungCancerInitiativeNC.org with the team name, person picking up the bags and phone number.

 


T-Shirts


All pre-registrants are guaranteed a navy event shirt. Pre-registered lung cancer survivors will also receive a survivor t-shirt. There will be a very limited quantity of shirts available for those who register on event day.

Lung Cancer Initiative appreciates the severity of COVID-19. As we are dedicated to serving the needs of people with lung cancer and their loved ones, we are closely monitoring the latest developments related to the outbreak and responding accordingly. We will follow all guidelines from the CDC and local officials as it pertains to mass gatherings and social distancing. Event changes will be posted on the homepage of this website and sent to registered participants.
