Hubert Parks (shown with his wife, Joellen, business partner and friend, Junie Michael, as well as NCADA representative to accept his lifetime achievement award) founded Parks Chevrolet in Kernersville in 1967, adding Parks Mazda in 1977, expanding to Raleigh in 1985 and growing into Charlotte in 1987. Our leader was diagnosed with lung cancer in September of 2008, passing away in March of 2010. Now, we must make sure others don't face the suffering that Mr. Parks endured from the leading cancer-killer of Americans.
Please help us change the current facts for those affected by lung cancer. Simply take a moment to join us in supporting the Triad LUNGe Forward 5K Run, Walk and Celebration, coming up September 18, 2021, for the Lung Cancer Initiative. Together, we can truly make a difference. Please join the movement...

The Lung Cancer Initiative specializes in connecting patients, survivors and loved ones with the medical and research community across North Carolina. On September 18th, we'll come together to remember those lost and celebrate all survivors, including veterans who are impacted at a higher rate by this disease. We will raise funds to advance survivorship via lung cancer research, education and access programs. We are excited that survivorship has increased such that 21% of those diagnosed with lung cancer live 5 years or longer, but, together, we know there is much more we can do.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
- Margaret Mead
