Welcome to My Personal Page
On Saturday, September 18, 2021,
I will be participating in the Triangle LUNGe Forward 2 Mile Walk & Celebration benefiting the Lung Cancer Initiative. Please help support me in this important project by contributing to this great cause. As you may know, on 3/24/21 I collapsed at work, broke my neck, my heart stopped 3 separate times, and lead to my diagnosis of Stage 4 metastatic non-small (non-smoker) cell lung cancer. I had no prior symptoms and no previous medical conditions. This has changed my life and the life of my family. I am now a 5+ month survivor. At this time, I have completed 5 courses of chemotherapy, 7 courses of targeted immune therapy(which will continue indefinitely), and 15 stereo-radiation treatments, but I have 10 more scheduled starting 9/7/21. I am grateful for the support of my family and friends and I am walking daily to increase my stamina in order to participate in this walk. Targeted immune therapy has changed the course for many with non-small cell lung cancer and hopefully will save my life, and the lives of many others, which is why supporting research is so important, and the reason I am participating in this walk.
The mission of the Lung Cancer Initiative is to save lives and support to those affected by lung cancer through research, awareness, education and access programs across North Carolina. Your tax-deductible contribution will fuel medical discovery, increase survival and provide a network for hope and action for those affected by lung cancer in our community. More information on the Lung Cancer Initiative and its programs can be found at www.LungCancerInitiativeNC.org.
Whatever you can give will help; it all adds up! I greatly appreciate your support!
